RIDE HIGHLIGHTS
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Falls Creek Mountain Bike Park has over 40 kilometres of singletrack trails, split 25% green, 65% blue and 10% black. The trails wind through snow gums in brilliant alpine terrain and no matter which trail you take, each ascent is matched with a great downhill to take you back to the village. There are trails for everyone, starting with easy and relatively flat trails with fun flowing descents, right up to expert all-mountain trails.
ROAD RIDES
Tackle the 30km Falls Creek road climb, one of the 7 Peaks climbs and HC-rated, or ride the challenging Bogong High Plains Road to Omeo, including the famous WTF Corner. For an easier ride simply cruise around Rocky Valley Dam, or nearby Mt Beauty offers easy to intermediate rides that explore the picturesque Kiewa Valley.
BACKCOUNTRY ADVENTURE
Get off the beaten track and head out into the Falls backcountry on one of the mapped trails. For a flatter ride try the Huts Loop, for some climbing hit the Marum Point Paralyser, or pack a PLB and plenty of food and water and tackle the Fainters Fire Trail all the way to Mt Beauty. The sense of space you'll experience is incredible.
GRAVEL
Gravelistas are always on the lookout for uncharted territory and whilst all the Falls Creek backroads are on the maps, they're relatively undiscovered as gravel loops. Gradients are steep and surfaces loose up here in the alpine environment, so bring your climbing legs and be ready for some challenge.
BEGINNERS AND KIDS
Over 10km of the Falls Creek MTB trail network is deliberately built to be friendly for those new to mountain biking. The two-way Induction trail starts at the village car park and winds past Windy Corner on the way to Rocky Valley Dam, or a popular descent option is to shuttle up and link Eagle Rock, Generator Down, Turbine, Lakeview, Short Circuit and Induction into an unbroken green-rated gravity descent right back to the village.
