The countdown continues with only a month to go until the highly anticipated Indigo Epic trail officially opens to ride from 12pm on Wednesday 15 March 2023.
To help plan your Indigo Epic adventure we’re revealing more exciting trail details each week as we countdown to the launch. This week we’re doing a dive into what you can expect from your Indigo Epic riding experience…
Who is the Indigo Epic for?
Everyone! The Indigo Epic trail is an immersive intermediate trail that offers something for all riders. Take it easy and enjoy the rolling flow and B-lines of the newly constructed machine built trail sections. More advanced? Experienced riders are in for a wild ride with climbs to test yourself and packed A-line features including berms, step-ups and gap jumps.
Clocking in at 56km if riding the entire network, the Indigo Epic is a full day adventure trail so make sure you’re prepared before setting out and ride within your limits. Whatever your speed you’re in for an epic ride through some of Victoria’s High Country’s most spectacular scenery.
What can you expect from the trail?
The Indigo Epic trail is a “helix loop design” with flowing descents and climbs. This means the Indigo Epic can be tackled in its full length from Beechworth or Yackandandah, or cut into shorter loops making the trail ideal for all levels of riders as well as families – choose your own adventure.
Linking in with Yackandandah Mountain Bike Park’s handcut old school XC terrain, you’ll enjoy techy singletrack mixed with over 22km of newly constructed machine built trail. Feel a million miles away as you ride past stunning bushland, lush ferns and over rushing creeks. Flow focused descent elements and gully climbs create a rock and rolling wilderness riding experience.
