THE PARK
Falls Creek Mountain Bike Park has over 40 kilometres of singletrack trails, split 25% green, 65% blue and 10% black. The trails wind through snow gums in brilliant alpine terrain and no matter which trail you take, each ascent is matched with a great downhill to take you back to the village. There are trails for everyone, starting with easy and relatively flat trails with fun flowing descents, right up to expert all-mountain trails.
Shuttles run every weekend (with stops at the Ticketbox, Bike Hub and Summit), and accommodation is available on-mountain or nearby at Bogong Village and Mt Beauty. You'll also find great coffee, locally brewed beer, campsites, cafes and support services.
MTB HIGHLIGHTS
SUMMIT TO HOWMANS
Falls Creek boasts an unbroken 10km gravity trail linking up stand-out blue/black trails High Voltage, Wishing Well and Flowtown. All up this is a 525m descent and takes in awesome terrain with berms, drops, jumps and flowy built features all the way from the Summit to the Ticket Box. Get to the top by riding the XC up tracks, or ignore the "earn your turns" mantra and book yourself a day of shuttles.
BIG FELLA
Kicking off at the shuttle drop point high on the Summit, Big Fella winds its way down into the Village Bowl over a series of hits, kickers, berms and drops that are guaranteed to have you grinning from ear to ear. Crack on down to the village and then shuttle back up to do it all again. Rumour has it that you'll also enjoy Thunderbolt on the other side of the Bowl...
SNOWGUM COUNTRY XC LOOP
For a scenic ride with a bit of grunt, Jumpstart, Vortex and Generator trails take in Falls Creek’s most recognised features of the ski lifts, Rocky Valley Dam, Wombats Ramble and the all-withstanding snowgums. In it's entirety, the loop is over 7km (half climb, half descent) but you can shorten the ride at either Aqueduct and Wombats junctions if you get impatient for the descent.
BEGINNERS AND KIDS
Gnarly trails are fun but everyone needs to start somewhere. Whether learning, riding with kids or just out for a cruise, the Nordic Bowl and lakeside trails feature nearly 10km of berms and rollers that are great to get the feel of riding singletrack. Ride out from the village along the flat Aqueduct Trail and return via Induction, another fun green intro trail.
SUNSET AT THE TRIG
The Trig needs no introduction. Sitting at the start of High Voltage, this is the highest point in the entire network. It also happens to be the perfect spot to chill with a couple beers at the end of a good day’s ride and watch the sun go down over the mountains. Bring quality lights and your A-game if you plan to ride High Voltage back in the dark, or you can return via the easier route along Frying Pan and Pretty Valley Road.
BACKCOUNTRY ADVENTURE
Get off the beaten track and head out into the Falls backcountry on one of the mapped trails. For a flatter ride try the Huts Loop, for some climbing hit the Marum Point Paralyser, or pack a PLB and plenty of food and water and tackle the Fainters Fire Trail all the way to Mt Beauty. The sense of space you'll experience is incredible.
FALLS CREEK RESORT
Being an all-season resort, Falls Creek is a hive of adventure and activity in the warmer months of the year. On-top of your road riding and mountain biking adventure, top your trip up with impressive year-round activities in hiking, walking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking and much more. There are also a range of fabulous cafes, restaurants and accommodation operating outside the snow season plus events almost every week during the busy periods.
