Ride High Country is delighted to announce that we have secured the Jayco Herald Sun Tour next year. Australia’s oldest stage race will tour the High Country again…this time with an incredible TWO mountain top finishes in 2020!
For the first time in the nearly 70 year history of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, next years event will feature finishes on Mt Buller and Falls Creek. The two-day Lexus of Blackburn Women’s Herald Sun Tour continues to build its own traditions, while the men will battle it out over five days – both events with a variety of mouth-watering opportunities for sprinters and climbers.
Jayco Herald Sun Tour Race Director SCOTT McGRORY:
“It gives the riders who love going uphill a great opportunity, without those two mountain tops stages being brutal, the climbs are obviously difficult, but the stages themselves are not overly difficult before they get there.”

Lexus of Blackburn Women’s Herald Sun Tour Race Director JOHN TREVORROW:
“Day two for the women with both the up and down at Falls Creek will be one for the adventurous riders, because while we have some fantastic climbers you also need to be able to descend well. Those that are prepared to push the limits could be able to open up a margin that might just see them hold on, it will be a great day of racing that will certainly push some right outside their comfort zones”
We are delighted that Victoria’s High Country will host the bulk of the tour, with Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens home to the final stage.
McGRORY:
“We’ve also picked some good quality, but narrow, roads to really force the issue. The teams that come prepared and have scouted the course will have an advantage to make sure they’re in the right positions in case there’s crosswinds or a dangerous moment.

“We will have some world class sprinters, and there are plenty of Australian hopes as well, and they will all have chances on day one – and this is the third edition and the calibre of riders we expect to have just proves this women’s race gets better and better every year”
