In another great boost for Ride High Country, Alpine Shire have been successful in securing $1.3 million to link Harrietville and Bright with a shared trail as part of the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund. Senator Bridget McKenzie was in Harrietville yesterday to announce the funding. Alpine Shire will contribute a further $1.3 million to deliver to project in three stages by 2021.
The Great Valley Trail project will see the current trails at Bright and Harrietville linked with 14 km of family-friendly shared trail, for a total trail length of approx. 22km. The project will return $20 million to the regional economy and contribute to job creation both during construction and following project completion.
